3 Little Monkeys and our Community

• The Snowsuit Fund
  • For 25 years, The Snowsuit Fund has raised funds for the purchase and distribution of snowsuits to needy children in our community. 3 Little Monkeys is pleased to support such a wonderful organization.

   

• Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre Foundation
  • The annual 'For the Kids' Charity auction takes place in May and helps to support 3 Charities: The Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre, The Ottawa Rotary Home, and Autism Ontario Ottawa; each of which help thousands of kids with disabilities every year. 3 Little Monkeys proudly contributes to the foundation.

   

• Hopewell Avenue Public School Band
  • Hopewell School is right across the Street from 3 Little Monkeys, and we are proud to have contributed to the fundraiser for the School Band to raise money in April 2009 enabling all band students to attend a music festival in Toronto.

   

• Sunnyside Branch, Ottawa Public Library
  • A favorite destination for neighbourhood kids, the well loved Sunnyside Branch of the Ottawa Public Library is located on a busy stretch of Bank Street in the heart of a very active and community-spirited residential area. Overlooking the Rideau Canal, it features a lovely flower garden in the summer and easy access to skating in the winter. The children's department features a full range of programs and 3 Little Monkeys is thrilled and delighted to have donated the new Wall Panel which will grace the front of the Resource Desk for curious and busy hands to play with while mum or dad talk to the librarians.

   

• Alta Vista Public School
  • Alta Vista is a local Public School and thier annual Alta Vista Public School Spring Fair helps to raise funds in order to support early literacy and music programs, as well as programs for needy children. 3 Little Monkeys is pleased to support the school.

   

• Great River School
  • Waldorf education is truly unique. It provides a dynamic learning environment that nurtures the growth of the whole child – head, heart, and hands. Through highly creative, experiential learning, the children develop a love of learning that will serve them throughout a lifetime. This learning also garners a mutual respect for others and the beautiful world in which we all live. 3 little monkeys is proud to support Ottawa's newest Waldorf initiative with supplies for their Parent and Child Nursery Program.

   

• St. Margaret Mary's Christmas Bazaar
  • St Margaret Mary's Church on Fairbarn Street right is right around the corner from 3 Little Monkeys. For the last 10 years, St Margaret Mary's volunteers have joined forces with other local parishes to bring people from our community "in from the cold" for hot meals on Sundays when the weather turns cold in October and 3 Little Monkeys is pleased to take part.

   

• Glebe Cooperative Nursery School
  • 3 Little Monkeys is pleased to support the annual Mother's Day fundraiser at the Glebe Co-operative Nursery school.

   

• Old Ottawa South River Run
  • 3 Little Monkeys is pleased to contribute the this fundraiser for the Ottawa South Community Association. The road race is within the Old Ottawa South neighbourhood starting and finishing in Brewer Park and covering an interesting five kilometre route using residential streets and the pathway along the Rideau River through Windsor Park before looping back to Brewer Park.

   

• Corpus Christi School
  • The yearly mardi gras fundraiser raises money for parent council initiatives such as the literacy room and school yard trasnformation.

   

• Ten Oaks Project
  • The Ten Oaks Project is a fundraising effort raising money to send kids from LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered or queer) and/or non-traditional families to a camp with their peers. The programs are run in conjunction with the youth Services Bureau of Ottawa, the National Capital Region Branch of the YMCA-YWCA and the GLBTTQ Youth Servie Providers Network.

   

• Yoga for Youth Outreach Program
  • Hundreds of marginalized youth benefit each year from the Ottawa Radha Yoga Centre's Yoga for Youth Outreach Program (Yoga for youth at risk). Yoga for Youth Outreach offers preventative strategies for stress and anger in the lives of youth, as well as offering tools to youth for improved self care, relaxation and healthier decision making at a critical time in their self development. There is within the program a service called Body talks which is a series of self esteem workshops for girls and young women
